Trees and Woodlands

Tamar Valley woody habitats are a rich feature in the landscape, from ancient deciduous woodlands to small copses, coniferous plantations, wet woodlands, traditional orchards and hedgerows.

Trees outside these habitats, growing in gardens, hedgerows, parkland and alongside riverbanks are very important too, in particular ancient and veteran trees which are recognised as irreplaceable habitat, such is their amazing wildlife value.
