The Tamar Valley’s rivers and estuaries are wonderful places to explore.
Please enjoy them safely by following expert guidance from our water safety partners.

Quick safety tips
- Check the weather, tides and river conditions before you go.
- Keep back from edges; paths and banks can be slippery or unstable.
- Wear a well-fitted buoyancy aid for boating, kayaking or paddleboarding.
- Cold water can be dangerous year-round – know the RNLI “Float to Live” advice.
- Go with others where possible and tell someone your plans and return time.
- Supervise children closely near water at all times.
